Three people had a close brush with death in Ventura County, when they were standing on a train trestle taking pictures when a train suddenly approached.
It happened just after 2:30 yesterday afternoon, on a trestle east of the Emma Wood State Beach group campgrounds. A 46 year old Arizona man, and his 16 year old niece and nephew were taking pictures when a northbound Amtrak train rounded a curve at 50 miles an hour. The teens were able to get out of the way, but the man was struck, breaking his arm and suffering other non-life threatening injuries.
Ventura Police say it’s reminder that the accident is a reminder that it’s illegal to trespass on railroad tracks, or railroad right of way.
