Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Deputies Fatally Wound Suspect In Triple Homicide

Three people have been found dead in a Santa Barbara County home, and the man believed to be responsible for the killings was shot to death by Sheriff's deputies arriving at the scene.

Officers were called to a home on the 5900 block of Oakhill Road in Orcutt just after 8 Friday night.  A woman entering her home found blood all over the house, and a victim covered in blood in a bathtub.  She was able to safely escape and call for help.

The first deputies to reach the scene determined that a suspect was still in the house, and he was armed with a rifle.  They called for a SWAT team, which entered the home looking for victims.  They tried to get the man to surrender using non-lethal weapons.  When that failed, the man was fatally wounded.

Officers searching the house found the bodies of three people, all believed to be murder victims.  The names of the victims, and the suspect haven't been released yet.
