Remembering Legendary Beatles Producer George Martin: From The KCLU News Archives

Sir George Martin With The Beatles In 1962

We of course know the names of the four Beatles, but there was a fifth man involved with the group who’s now largely forgotten.

Sir George Martin arranged the music on some of their greatest hits, and helped create their unique sound.  He died this week, at the age of 90.KCLU's Lance Orozco caught up with him during a 2010 visit to Santa Barbara. On the 50th anniversary of the Beatles first visit to Los Angeles in 2014, Orozco brought us some previously unheard parts of the conversation with the legendary producer about working with the Beatles.

Lance Orozco has been News Director of KCLU since 2001, providing award-winning coverage of some of the biggest news events in the region, including the Thomas and Woolsey brush fires, the deadly Montecito debris flow, the Borderline Bar and Grill attack, and Ronald Reagan's funeral.
