A new economic forecast for Ventura County and the state is predicting continued slow growth. The California Lutheran University Center for Economic Research and Forecasting released its 2017 forecast for the county, and the state. It predicts 1.7 percent growth for the county. The report says at the current rate, the number of jobs in the county will return to the same level it was at when the recession started a decade ago. The CLU forecast says while California’s economic situation has improved, it still remains fragile, and another major bump in the economy would result in another financial crisis for the state’s economy.
