Helicopter Clips Power Line On South Coast, Forcing Emergency Landing; Starts Brush Fire

There were some scary moments on the South Coast Friday morning when a helicopter clipped some power lines, forcing it to make an emergency landing.

The crop dusting helicopter was flying on the 1100 block of Ellwood Ranch Road in West Goleta at about 8:30 a.m. when the accident happened.

The helicopter was able to safely make an emergency landing. The pilot was unhurt. A cut power line which dropped to the ground started a small brush fire, but Santa Barbara County firefighters quickly controlled the quarter-acre blaze.
