In the wake of the deadly January flooding in Santa Barbara County, plans have been announced for a community meeting in Montecito to look at everything from ongoing recovery efforts to the risks from future storms.
One of the key topics will be a look at the dangers associated with future storms, and what people should do if evacuation orders are issued.
Santa Barbara County Public Works officials tell KCLU News they’ve made major progress in clearing many debris basins and creeks. But, they caution it could be mid-spring before they are cleared to the same level they were at before January’s storm.
The meeting will take place at six Thursday night, at Montecito Union School.
