Controversial School Board Member In Ventura County Loses Reelection Bid

A controversial school board member in Ventura County lost his reelection bid.

Mike Dunn was seeking a new term on the Conejo Valley School District Board of Education. He became a controversial figure because of his efforts to restrict some books used in classrooms. Then, earlier this year Dunn was censured by fellow board members after he was accused of trying to intimidate some opponents.

Three seats were up for election, but Dunn finished sixth of the eight candidates.

Cindy Goldberg, Jenny Fitzgerald, and Bill Gorback were elected to the board.
