Charges Filed, Tow Truck Driver Enters Not Guilty Pleas In Fatal Ventura Hit And Run Accident

A tow truck driver has entered not guilty pleas to charges stemming from a February accident which left a 14 year old Ventura teen dead. Ventura Police say Jonathan Hernandez was riding his bicycle southbound on Saticoy Road at around midnight February 18th, when he tried to cross Telegraph Road against a red light. Ventura County prosecutors say Hernandez was hit by a tow truck and another vehicle, but neither stopped. The teen died at the scene. Several days later, Hermin Martin Henderson turned himself in, admitting he was the tow truck driver. Prosecutors say the 50 year old man is facing charges of fleeing the scene of an accident which resulted in death, and concealing evidence. He could face up to five years behind bars if convicted of both counts.
