Authorities are working to identify the body of a man found in the ocean off the Ventura County coastline.
A fisherman spotted the body in a kelp bed off of Sycamore Cove, near the Ventura/Los Angeles County line Thursday morning. Dive teams from both counties worked to recover the body.
The body was taken to the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s office. It’s hoped an autopsy will provide information on the cause of death.
Officials say the body was found near where the car of a Los Angeles man who disappeared last week was discovered.
