A man had a close call after a boat fire off the Ventura County coastline.
It happened at around 4 Tuesday afternoon, several miles from Oxnard. A passing boat rescued the burning craft's sole occupant.
The boat was enveloped in flames by the time firefighters could reach the scene. There's no word on the cause of the fire.
