What's Being Called The Biggest Storm Of The Season Headed Towards Central, South Coasts

What could be the biggest storm on the season is on track to hit the Central and South Coasts this week, and is prompting concern about the potential for flash flooding, and debris flows on the Central and South Coasts.

There are still questions about the timing of the storm, but we could see heavy rainfall between early Wednesday and Thursday.

Rainfall could be in the two to four inch range on the coast and inland, and four to six inches in the foothills and mountains.

The biggest concern is about the possibility of concentrated heavy rainfall during a short window of time which could trigger new flooding and debris flows.

Santa Barbara County issued a Pre-Evacuation Advisory on Saturday, saying people in the county’s brush fire burn areas should prepare for the possibility of evacuations. Santa Barbara and Ventura County have interactive maps to help you evaluate the danger in your area
