Ventura Fire threatnes homes before being knoncked down by firefighters

A six year old boy learned about the dangers of playing with a lighter the hard way, after Ventura firefighters say he accidentally started a blaze which threatened a housing complex.

It happened just before one p.m. Saturday, on the 1000 block of Olive Avenue in Ventura. Some rubbish caught on fire which spread to a fence, and then to the side of a five unit housing complex. Ventura firefighters knocked down the blaze in less than five minutes, before it could cause extensive damage to the units.

Fire investigators then determined that a boy with a lighter accidentally started the fire. No one was hurt.
