Ventura County Man Enters Guilty Pleas In Double Shooting Which Left One Dead

A Ventura County man is expected to spend the rest of his life behind bars for a gang related shooting which left one man dead, and a second seriously injured.

Jesus Samuel Duarte pled guilty to first degree murder, and attempted murder charges for the February, 2014 shootings in Oxnard. Prosecutors say Duarte and an accomplice fatally wounded Joshua Van, and seriously wounded Dontre Bryant.

The now 38 year old man is expected to get a 89 years to life sentence as a result of his guilty pleas.
