Unemployment has grown on the Central and South Coasts, as well as statewide during the last month.
Ventura County’s jobless rate increased from 4.5% in May to 5.4% in June. In Santa Barbara County, the number of people also rose, going from 3.9% to 4.9% from May to June. And, in San Luis Obispo County, the numbers are also up, with unemployment rising from 3.5% to 4.5%.
The statewide unemployment numbers are also up. The percentage of people out of work in California rose from 5.2% in May, to 5.4% in June.
