Two Ventura County Sheriff's Deputies Injured In Confrontation With Man

Two Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies are recovering from minor injuries they suffered in a confrontation with a man believed to be under the influence of drugs.

Deputies were called to a home on the 2600 block of Nyland Acres at around 8 p.m. Tuesday by a report of possible drug activity. They say Eduardo Garcia was acting erratically, and when they tried to arrest him, he attacked the officers. At one point, they say the 24 year old man grabbed a Taser from one of the deputies and fired it, but missed the officers.

He was eventually arrested on multiple charges including battery on a police officer and attempted assault with a deadly weapon.
