Two South Coast Colleges Get Grants To Help With Science, Math, Technology, And Engineering

Some South Coast colleges announced they have received major federal grants to help students studying science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Santa Barbara City College is getting $5.3 million dollars in STEM funding. The college will update curriculum to make it more relevant, make more help available for low income students, and further develop programs to help City College graduates continue their educations at four year institutions.

California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks will receive $4.6 million dollars in STEM funding. CLU will add four new staff members, and start new programs aimed at improving the rate of low income students actually making through school, and getting their degrees.
