Three Storm Systems Headed Towards Central, South Coasts But No Evacuations Anticipated

Mar 7, 2018

Three storm systems are headed toward the Central and South Coasts, but Santa Barbara county officials say at this point none of the storms are strong enough to trigger evacuations in brush fire burn zones.

The first system is expected to move into the region overnight Thursday, bringing mostly light showers. The second, and perhaps biggest of the storms is expected Saturday night and will bring rain into Sunday.

The National Weather Service predicts a quarter to three quarters of an inch of rain, but not at rates high enough to trigger debris flow concerns in the region’s brush fire burn zones. The mountain could get one to two inches of rain.

Then, on Tuesday a third, smaller storm could swing through the region.
