Third Suspect Arrested After Home Burglary Attempt In Southern Santa Barbara County

Authorities say they’ve arrested a third suspect wanted in connection with a burglary attempt on the South Coast which triggered a several hour long search.

Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 100 block of Santa Elena in Montecito Wednesday night by reports of an occupied home being burglarized.

Deputies arriving on the scene briefly encountered the men, with an officer firing one shot. No one was hit, but two men were eventually arrested.

The third wanted suspect was arrested Thursday afternoon, after Santa Barbara Police say he stole a car, and then was involved in a traffic accident in Montecito.
