Investigators are trying to figure out exactly what led to a fatal stabbing involving a stepfather, and his stepson in Ventura County.
It happened at about 11:30 Thursday night, on the 2200 block of Hietter Avenue in Simi Valley. Simi Valley Police detectives say there was some type of a domestic dispute which led to the killing. Investigators believe that Howard Novak fatally stabbed his stepson, 28 year old Kelly Hughes.
Hughes was declared dead at the scene.
The 62 year old stepfather was arrested on a murder charge.
