State To Spend $10 Million For Sewer System Repairs On South Coast Parks

The State Water Resources Control Board is going to improve old, worn-out sewer systems at several state parks with a $10 million project.

The funds are coming from the Clean Beaches Initiative program.

Among the projects will be  a wastewater treatment facility at El Capitan state beach west of Goleta.

Additionally, at Carpinteria State Beach the funds will upgrade 5,000 feet of sewer pipe along with 60 recreational vehicle hook-ups.

The state says this is a high priority project.
