State Approves Funding For More Than $14 Million Dollars In Central Coast Highway Projects

The state has approved more than $14 million dollars in funding for some major transportation projects on the Central Coast, including repaving of a section of a heavily used highway.

The California Transportation Commission allocated $12.8 million dollars to repave Highway 154 from Baseline Avenue, outside of Santa Ynez to the Cold Springs Bridge. The work is expected to begin this fall.

The Commission also allocated $1.5 million dollars to repair the Highway 101/South Higuera Street Bridge, which was damaged in an accident involving a big-rig truck.

The state commission approved $170 million dollars in funding for 49 projects statewide.
