South Coast Post Office Being Renamed After Fallen Navy SEAL

Thursday is going to be an emotional day for a Santa Barbara County family, with a post office being renamed after a Navy SEAL officer who died in the line of duty in Afghanistan.

Santa Barbara’s Victoria Court Post office is being renamed the “Special Warfare Operator Master Chief Petty Officer Lou Langlais Post Office Building.”

The Santa Barbara native was one of 17 SEALS who died on August 6th, 2011 when their helicopter was shot down.

The ceremony will be hosted by former Democratic Congresswoman Lois Capps of Santa Barbara, who authored the legislation to rename the post office, and current Santa Barbara Congressman Salud Carbajal.
