South Coast Non-Profit Which Helps Homeless, Low Income Residents Gets New CEO

A woman with extensive experience in the non-profit field has been named as the new head of a Ventura County organization which helps the homeless and low income people.

Cynder Sinclair is the new CEO of Community Action of Ventura County. Sinclair is a past chief executive officer of the Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinics, and CEO of the Girl Scouts of the California Central Coast.

Oxnard-based Community Action operates a Homeless Transition Center to help people on the streets with services ranging from showers to health care. It also has a number of other programs, including a food bank and legal assistance program.

Lance Orozco has been News Director of KCLU since 2001, providing award-winning coverage of some of the biggest news events in the region, including the Thomas and Woolsey brush fires, the deadly Montecito debris flow, the Borderline Bar and Grill attack, and Ronald Reagan's funeral.
