The Goleta Valley Community Center will keep its doors open and lights on for thousands of citizens for at least the next two years.
The Goleta City Council worked out a lease agreement with the nonprofit running the site.
At the same time a long-range management and improvement plan is in the works for the 89-year-old building on Hollister Avenue.
The building is home to community fitness classes, senior programs and countless events.
During the duration of the renewed lease, plans for repairs and future use of the building will be worked out.
