Shark Sighting Prompts Warning Signs At South Coast Beach

A South Coast beach has warning signs on it after a shark sighting.

A shark was spotted feeding off of Carpinteria Friday morning. The waters off the beach weren’t closed, but the signs are basically letting people know they enter at their own risk.

Kids involved with a junior lifeguard program at one of Carpinteria’s beaches were kept out of the water Friday.

Some fishermen reported spotting a large shark feeding early this week in the ocean west of Goleta.
