Drugs seized by Santa Barbara County Sheriff's detectives in connection with five arrests

A search in Santa Barbara County for a parolee who cut off his electronic monitoring device led to a lot more than authorities were looking for, with five arrests.

It started on Monday when Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s detectives served a search warrant on the 700 block of North Maria Street in Santa Maria.

They found Nicholas McCloud, a convicted felon who had removed his ankle tracking device, and arrested him as he tried to flee. They arrested a second person who was also wanted at the same home. Evidence found at the home led them to a second house, where three more arrests were made on drug charges.
