Amid the loss and destruction from the deadly flooding in Santa Barbara County, there’s an effort to create a vision for rebuilding.

People who live and work in and around the Montecito area are being asked to voice their thoughts on how to rebuild.

County Supervisor Das Williams encourages community members to complete an online survey that asks for their input. He says the hope is that the area is rebuilt in better ways.

“Our goal is to make a better community, a community that’s stronger together and one that’s ready for other challenges in the future and ones that use enormous breadth of talent of the community to solve its problems,” he says.

Williams says he would like to establish a memorial park for the victims in the area that was most devastated by the flooding.

The survey is available through February 12th.
