A planned rocket launch from the Central Coast has been postponed for a day.

SpaceX had been planning to launch a Falcon 9 rocket carrying one large, and some smaller satellites from Vandenberg Air Force Base at around 6 a.m. Saturday.

The company pushed the launch back to Sunday morning. Officials say there wasn’t a problem, but they wanted to do some additional pre-launch system checks.

The rocket’s payload includes the PAZ satellite, a Spanish radar imaging satellite being launched into orbit for government and commercial purposes. There are also some smaller satellites included in the payload. The new launch window opens at 6:16 a.m. Sunday, so weather permitting early risers may get a spectacular view of the liftoff on the Central and South Coasts.
