Smoke from the Rey Fire, in Santa Barbara County

The Rey brush fire in the Los Padres National Forest in Santa Barbara County continues to grow, with the latest figures showing more than 13,000 acres has been burned.

The fire is now 10% contained.  More than 500 firefighters aided by helicopters and fixed wing aircraft are battling the blaze, which is burning in rugged mountains off of Paradise Road in the Santa Ynez Valley.

The good news is that the flames are moving away from developed areas.  No structures have been reported damaged by the fire, which started Thursday afternoon.  The cause is still under investigation.
