Human remains found with the wreckage of a vehicle in Santa Barbara County’s mountains have been positively identified as those of a man who disappeared nearly three years ago.
Timothy Black of Buellton was last seen in May of 2015.
In November of last year, someone spotted the wreckage of a car off of Gibraltar Road, near East Camino Cielo. The decomposed remains of a man were found at the scene.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Coroner’s Office says DNA samples confirmed the remains were those of the missing 57 year old man. However, because of the conditions of the remains it was impossible to determine his cause of death.
