Power Company Works To Repair Damage Caused By Whittier Brush Fire In Santa Barbara County

Crews from Pacific Gas and Electric are working to repair damaged power lines in areas hit by the Whittier Fire, south of Lake Cachuma.

Pacific Gas and Electric serves the Santa Ynez Valley and many power towers and service lines have had issues because of  the fire.

Repair crews are set up with a base camp at Lake Cachuma.  They are using a helicopter to inspect lines, and to move crew members who need to access the most difficult terrain to reconnect those lines.

Southern California Edison handles power on the south side of the fire, in the hills northwest of Goleta, and no major problems have been reported.
