Police Arrest South Coast Teen Accused of Robbing Middle School Students, Threatening Grandfather

A South Coast teenager has been arrested after being accused of robbing middle school students and threatening to harm a student, a police officer and his grandfather.

Ventura Police said it started just before 5 p.m. Friday when 18-year-old Skylar Martin’s grandmother reported that her grandson was attempting to break down the door to their home and threatening to harm his grandfather. Authorities said Martin fled and then called his grandmother and threatened to harm an investigating officer.

As police began searching for him, dispatch received a call from Anacapa Middle School reporting that Martin stole a skateboard from students, placed a 12-year-old victim into a choke hold and threatened a 14-year-old student with a weapon.

Police said officers, with the help of a k-9, eventually found Martin and arrested him. During the arrest, the suspect and an officer suffered minor injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment.
