It can sometimes be a headache to get or renew your passport. But there’s a way that South Coast residents can have an easier time. The Oxnard Main Post Office is holding a Passport Fair on Monday.

Oxnard Postmaster Laura McDowell says extra staff will be on hand to speed up the process, and no appointment is necessary.

"All hands on deck to help expedite the process that in a given, normal day picking up a passport, our customers, who are trying to leave work to come and get one, might find that it takes a little bit longer than they had expected.  But during the fair, it's what can we do for the public to help them come in and get it done as quickly as possible," she says.

Customers should fill out forms ahead of time. They should bring a photo ID and certified copy of their birth certificate. They can even have their passport photo taken for $15 at the fair.

It runs from 10 am to 5 pm on Monday at the Oxnard Main Post Office.

Additional Passport Fairs are set for March 26th in Santa Barbara and April 14th in Oxnard.
