The deadly and destructive Woolsey brush fire took three lives, and destroyed or damaged 2000 structures in Ventura and Los Angeles Counties.
But, the region is still in recovery mode from another huge blaze, the Thomas Fire, the 282,000 acre inferno which took more than a thousand structures. December 4th marks the first anniversary of that fire. A new compilation of stories, From the Fire, looks at the blaze thru the eyes of one community, while aiding in ongoing relief efforts.
