November Ballot Will Include Bond Measures For School Repairs In Santa Barbara

The Santa Barbara Unified School District has put two bond measures on the November ballot this year, measures I and J.

Supporters say the measures are needed to pay for improvements to schools in the form of new buildings and prefab structures.

They also say the measures would turn the vacant Canon Perdido Street armory into a space for athletics, arts and adult programs.

Opponents are saying that taxes are already too high, and no more assessments are needed in the form of these school bond measures.

The new measures could cost homeowners $250 a year for a million dollar home.
