Non-Profits Serving Central, South Coasts Get $4 Million To Fight Homelessness Among Veterans

Three non-profit organizations on the Central and South Coasts received more than $4 million dollars in federal grants to fight homelessness among veterans. The grants from the Department of Veterans Affairs include $2 million dollars for the group “People Assisting The Homeless,” in San Luis Obispo and Los Angeles Counties, $1.6 million dollars for the Salvation Army in Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Los Angeles Counties, and $365,000 for “New Beginnings” in Santa Barbara. The money is intended to help get homeless and low-income veterans and their families into permanent homes.
