New Nonstop Airline Service From Santa Barbara To Minneapolis Starts This Week

The South Coast is getting some new airline service starting this week, with non-stop round trip flights from Santa Barbara Airport to Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Sun Country Airlines will offer round trip flights twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays.

The airline is using Boeing 737's for the service, with a capacity of 126 passengers. With fares starting at about $200 roundtrip, Santa Barbara Airport officials say the new service could help boost tourism.

The flights are also part of one stop service from Santa Barbara to Boston, and New York City.  The new service starts this Thursday.
