More Freezing Weather In Forecast For Central, South Coasts

It’s going to be another extremely cold night overnight Tuesday into Wednesday for the Central and South Coasts, with temperatures again dropping below freezing in spots.

National Weather Service meteorologists say we could see lows in the upper 20’s even in places like Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Thousand Oaks. Some inland areas could drop to the mid 20’s.

The overnight lows Monday night and into Tuesday morning included 27 degrees in the Santa Ynez Valley, 43 in Montecito, 32 in Ojai and 35 in Thousand Oaks.

Starting Wednesday, we’ll see the start of a gradual warming trend. A weak storm system could bring the slight chance of showers Thursday night and Friday for San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties. The main impact will be increased cloud cover.

But, forecasters say any rain would be so slight it wouldn’t trigger any type of flooding, or debris flow concerns in the region’s brush fire burn zones.
