More Details Released About What Investigators Call Murder/Suicide Attempt At Ventura County Mall

Ventura County Sheriff's deputies, and evacuees at a Thousand Oaks mall which was the scene of what they are calling a murder/attempted suicide on Monday

New details have been released about a shooting which left a woman dead, and hundreds in shock at a Ventura County mall.

Ventura County Sheriff’s detectives confirm their initial theory that Saturday afternoon’s shootings in a store at The Oaks mall in Thousand Oaks was a murder followed by a suicide attempt. They say Kevin Crane shot to death his ex-wife, Parisa Siddiqui, and then critically wounded himself .

The sound of the shots prompted hundreds of shoppers to run from the area. Others sheltered in place in stores, as employees locked doors because of fears that someone with a gun might randomly be targeting people in the mall.

Aside from the two Thousand Oaks residents directly involved in the shooting, no one else was hurt.
