The Thomas Fire’s push into southern Santa Barbara County overnight has led to some mandatory and voluntary evacuations.
The orders impact the foothills above and around Carpinteria, Summerland, and Montecito.
Residents north of Highway 192 and east of Buena Vista Drive to the Ventura County line are in a mandatory evacuation zone.
Areas south of Highway 192 from Eucalyptucs Lane/San Ysidro Road to the Ventura County line are in voluntary evacuation warning areas. Warning areas are areas that people don't have to leave yet, but should be prepared to leave if ordered.
There’s an evacuation center set up at UC Santa Barbara, at its Rcreational Center.
The Thomas Fire disrupted power in Southern Santa Barbara County, impacting more than 85,000 customers.
The latest update shows that the fire has burned more than 170,000 acres of land, and is 15% contained.
