Man Still Sought For Fatal Crash On Highway 101 In Ventura County

The CHP has put a new call for help in finding a man wanted for a hit and run collision in Ventura County which killed a popular local theater director.

John Slade was driving on the northbound 101 near Victoria Road in Ventura July 6th when his car hit by another northbound vehicle. He lost control and crashed. The Ojai man died at a hospital a few hours later.

CHP investigators believe that Patrick John McVicker of Ventura was driving the vehicle responsible for the fatal crash. They say McVicker fled the scene. The investigators say they have fresh evidence that the 48 year old man is still in the region, and is being helped by some people.

Slade was returning home to Ojai from Thousand Oaks the night of the crash from a rehearsal for a new production of "Hamlet."
