Man Sought For Fatal Beating Of His Wife In Ventura County Found Dead In Imperial County

A Ventura County man wanted for the murder of his wife in October has been found dead near the U.S.- Mexico border.

Jose Guzman’s body was discovered December 4th on a ranch in Imperial County. Imperial County officials say he died from a self-inflected gunshot wound.

Guzman was wanted for the fatal beating of his wife, Stacey Richards-Guzman October 28th at the couple’s Walker Avenue home in Camarillo. Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies responding to reports of a domestic disturbance found the badly beaten woman at the home. She later died at a hospital.

Jose Guzman had fled the scene, and authorities have been looking for him since his disappearance.
