A man has been rescued after he fell more than 60 feet down an abandoned well in Santa Barbara County.
The accident happened just after 3 Wednesday afternoon, on the 2600 block of Puesta Del Sol, near the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History.
A 40 year old worker was standing on the cover of what’s believed to be an abandoned water well, doing some yardwork, when it collapsed.
Santa Barbara County and city firefighters were called to the scene. They were able to get in contact with the man, who was conscious. A firefighter was lowered into the well to help bring the man up to safety.
He was taken to Cottage Hospital, in Santa Barbara with what are described as moderate injuries. His name hasn’t been released.
