Man Caught In Arizona Wanted For Santa Barbara Murder

A 24 year old man is in the Santa Barbara County jail after being arrested in a more than five year old murder case.

In September of 2010, Samuel Bautista Justo was found stabbed to death in his apartment on the 700 block of Castillo Street in Santa Barbara. Santa Barbara Police detectives identified an acquaintance of the victim as a suspect. However, they discovered the 18 year old, Eutimio Osvaldo Aispuro, had fled to Mexico. They worked with federal law enforcement officials and the Mexican government to try to locate and arrest Aispuro.

Two weeks ago, Aispuro was caught by the U.S. Border Patrol as he illegally crossed into Arizona from Mexico. He gave the agents a false name, but he was positively identified by fingerprints put in a national database by Santa Barbara detectives. Detectives interviewed him on Monday, and then brought him to Santa Barbara to face a murder charge.
