Fire officials say the massive Thomas brush fire on the South Coast has now tops more than 200,000 acres burned.  That's more than 300 square miles.

Firefighters say the blaze charred more than six miles of land as it pushed west from Ventura County to Santa Barbara County overnight Saturday into Sunday.

There are mandatory evacuation orders in effect from the mountains to Highway 192 in Carpinteria.  The order extends from the Ventura County line to the east, and into Hot Springs Road in Montecito.  It's expected that mandatory and voluntary orders could be extended all the way west to Highway 154 Sunday night.

The fire started last Monday night off of Highway 150 between Santa Paula and Ojai,  It's destroyed more than 700 structures, and led to one death.  The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
