Katy Perry, Kenny Loggins Headline Event For Public Safety Workers Who Worked Thomas Fire, Flood

A sold out event in Carpinteria hosted by comedian Dennis Miller, and featuring Katy Perry and Kenny Loggins raised nearly $2 million dollars for Thomas Fire and flood relief efforts.

The "One 805 Kick Ash Bash" at the Santa Barbara Polo Grounds was held Sunday to benefit law enforcement and firefighters groups, as well as Direct Relief International, which is involved in relief efforts.

Aside from the big name performers, one of the hits of the show was a teenager who had been rescued from the mud during the 1/9 debris flow.  Lauren Cantin sang with her Santa Barbara Middle School choir.

The 14 year old's mother also survived the debris flow which destroyed their house, but her brother and father died in the disaster.

First responders were invited to the event for free, and tickets and sponsorships were sold to help raise money.

The event featured a number of popular musicians and groups, including Wilson Phillips, Dishwalla, and Richard Marx.
