Throughout this Memorial Day weekend, you may notice an increased law enforcement presence in the South and Central Coast. Officers are targeting drunk and drugged drivers.
Many other law enforcement agencies have set up DUI checkpoints and have increased patrols.
"Sometimes when people are having fun, they have a tendency to drink alcohol and get into their vehicles," said Sgt. Michael Anselmo.
Authorities are urging you to plan ahead and arrange rides home for your family, friends and yourself before any drinking begins. If you’re hosting a party, you should limit the number of drinks served to your guests. If you see any reckless driving, call 911.
