Hundreds Rally On South And Central Coasts As Part Of National Movement Of Women's Marches

Hundreds march in downtown Ventura

Hundreds of people across the South and Central Coasts rallied together on Saturday to support social justice issues and to denounce President Donald Trump’s policies as part of a national movement of Women’s Marches. Crowds protested the president’s views on immigration, abortion, LGBT rights, women’s rights, environmental issues and more.

In Ventura, activists marched through the streets of downtown in an event called Ventura County Rising with the theme, “Justice For All.”

"I feel like it’s really important to show solidarity in the resistance to the distraction of our democracy by this administration," said Abra Flores of Ventura, who was among those marching.

The event was also meant to be a time of healing for Ventura County as it reels from the massive Thomas Fire.

Other Women’s Marches were held on Saturday in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo.
