Huge Crowds Expected For Pair Of Garth Brooks Concerts On Central Coast Could Mean Big Traffic Jams

There’s a whole lot of “Garth” coming to the Central Coast this week.

County music superstar Garth Brooks is performing twice Thursday night at the California Mid-State Fair, in Paso Robles. After his scheduled 7:30 p.m. concert sold out in thirty seconds, a second concert, at 10:30 at night was added. It also sold out in thirty seconds.

The unusual late night concert is expected to mean a huge traffic and parking crunch at the fair.

Extra shuttle busses to satellite parking areas are being added. With 30,000 people headed to the two shows, ticketholders are being urged to leave early.

No one will be admitted to the fairgrounds after 11 p.m., so people more than a half hour late to the second show will lose their seats. There will be no opening act for the first show, with Brooks and Trisha Yearwood beginning the first show promptly at 7:30.

Concertgoers are also being urged to go online to buy advance tickets to the Mid-State Fair, because admission to the fair to get to the concert isn’t included with the Garth Brooks tickets.
