Historic Central Coast Church Damaged When Car Plunges Into It; Driver Arrested On DUI Charge

A historic Santa Barbara County church which was built in the 1890’s has been damaged, after a car smashed into it.

It happened at about 12:30 Friday morning, in Los Olivos. CHP officers say a car speeding northbound on Santa Barbara Avenue, near Alamo Pintado failed to stop at a stop sign, and plunged into Los Olivos Baptist Church. The building suffered major damage.

The 22 year old Solvang woman driving the car suffered some minor cuts. She was arrested on a DUI charge.
